Category Label while exporting parameters
« on: July 31, 2023, 10:12:42 AM »
At the moment I'm finishing my biggest-ever macro and I have a lot of parameters with the same Name/Function but in different Categories.
It is a huge but still well-reviewed table. The issue I have is finding and exporting parameters having the same Name. Would it be possible to have Category Labels shown when exporting parameters from Macros?

In addition, it would be great if exported parameters could respect positions and also have Category Tabs (at the moment they are listed as they exported). I know it would be difficult to control which Category Tab to show so I`ll be ok to show them all no meter if any parameter is exposed and then when each parameter is exposed it will take its place under its own Category tab.
In the end, we could have a Parameter list closest match to the Main Parameter list.

Hope this makes any sense.

Hi Dragan,

Thanks for your suggestion. We'll evaluate what can be done to enhance the usability of Macros, just let me mention, that's a very specific request and we’ll have to prioritize features that we believe are more important at the moment. Thanks for your comprehension.

Best regards,

Thank You Michal,
the request looks personalized but on a large-scale project, this will be a huge improvement.
I usually don't ask for small features enhancements  ;D 8)
Since you can't do much on General Parameter Rollout because of how Max deals with data on that level, then RC Macros become the next best workflow to work with. And I have to say it is working great. Having Category tabs, passwords, easy import/export, etc Macros become very powerful and I think you guys should point more attention to users via tutorials, how-to reels, and some tips&tricks. I think users are not informed enough about the power of Macros as well as  RC Spline Markers (those too are left on the side).
