Cladding and windows cut out
« on: November 02, 2023, 04:25:15 PM »
Total newbie here.

I have cladding on a wall but the windows are not fully cut out. I've tried reversing the window splines, changing hierarchy mode and resetting xform.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

I would suggest using the Realign button (Base Objects > Properties > Realign) to see if that helps. If that doesn't fix it, if possible, please feel free to send us your scene (ideally simplified and containing just this problematic object(s)). Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Hi,

Thank you for providing the scene. Switching the Hierarchy Mode parameter to 3 within the Cladding macro does the trick. Please find attached the modified version of your scene (231103_cladding_iToo.max).

That doesn't make any sense. It's on 3 by default and didn't work but it does when the geo is separated into a separate file.

You can see on the attached screenshot it's not working (with the main model).

Ok, so I got this to work. Basically have to reverse each window spline and then realign the base object.
