Cladding Wall is cutting my segment along the 3 axis
« on: February 12, 2025, 09:27:07 AM »
Hi
I'm using RailClone version 6.3.9 and I'm having an issue with wall cladding. Here's a screenshot to illustrate my scene, I'm also attaching the max file. The segment is correctly cut according to the spline area, but it's also cut along the X-axis. I understand this is related to my spline orientation, since I can prevent this cut when I lay it flat.
Can you please explain to me what I m doing wrong?
Thank you
Pierre

Hi Pierre,

First, there's no need to treat the vertical and horizontal areas separately. You can use the to Spline alignment mode, where the X-axis aligns with the first spline segment. If needed, you can adjust the alignment using the Make First vertex option or by reversing the spline.

You can use the Cap Holes feature, but first, you should cap the bottom of the object or add thickness to it - for example, using the Shell modifier.

I've attached a revised version of your scene. I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Pierre

Thank you Michal for the solution and advice. And my apologies, I was convinced that the segment was closed...
Best regards
