Clipping Area Windows XY-Orientation
« on: March 06, 2024, 04:11:54 PM »
Hello everyone - new to this and I cant believe I am not finding something online for my issue.

Basically what I am trying to do is to make a parametric building. The Walls work and the openings ( I made them with windowsplines/different spline-segments ID and Linear 1S)

When i have a straight wall - the exclusion works great with the splines set as clipping area. But there is a problem when there is a non-straight wall.
How can i "rotate" the direction of the clipping plan - i can only chose X  and Y.
In the pic one wall is straight and the other one is non-straight.

Hi Pete,

I would like to recommend a slightly different style setup - consider using "empty" Segments placed, for example, by the Conditional Operator depending on the Material ID of the spline segment, instead of utilizing Clipping Areas. I also want to mention that it might be helpful to use Markers for these purposes - this would enable you to manage multiple properties within the User Data.

I hope that suggestion is useful to you.

Best regards,
