Corona Light Library Issue
« on: November 01, 2023, 11:41:52 AM »
Hi, I have a railclone I wanted to add to our library, in the original file the railclone functions correctly, no errors. However when I load the it from the railclone library I get an error message (see attached screenshot) and then the file crashes. If i however remove the attached Corona Light Segment everything works just fine.  Do Corona Lights always need to be removed before saving to library?

Hi,

Thank you so much for reporting it. With your assistance, we have been able to reproduce this unwanted behavior here as well. It will need to be further investigated by our main developers.

Best regards,

Hi,

Unfortunately it's not possible to use lights with the Library.
RC objects in the library have their segments in 'embedded' mode. That means the segment object is embedded in RC, and it's not necessary to keep it in the scene.

This approach works great to import RC styles, because everything is loaded into an unique object.
Same technique is used by some Max object (as Booleans). But it not was designed for non-geometric objects (as lights), causing unexpected issues.

I'm afraid this not something we can fix. Some objects may work and others not, depending of their implementation.
