Creating power cord
« on: January 04, 2023, 02:06:48 PM »
Hi!
Do you have any idea how to create a little noisy power cord powering a garland of light bulbs. I use a spline to scatter the bulbs with Raiclone. The main spline is renderable, but I miss a solution how to generate the small noisy cord. It can intersect the main shape- that's not a problem.
For now I use a normalize spline modifier to get dense divisions, and then I just apply a noise modifier. It would be lovely to get this result with Raiclone.
Thank you!

Hi,

thanks for the interesting question. Although there's not a way to automatically coil the cable in RailClone, you could do this by creating several helix segments in different variations and randomising between them. Please see the attached file for an example (modelling could have been done better to make them flow together, but you get the idea  :) )

I hope that helps.

Paul
