Evenely Count creates more than wanted
« on: January 28, 2024, 10:31:47 PM »
Hi,

Can someone explain why this RailClone object is creating more than the count number I'm putting in?

When I input 2 it seems to be creating the segment at every vertex. See image attached

Also, does anyone know how I can offset the starting point of the evenly segment?

Hi,

The vertices in the base spline may be "unwelded" for some reason. If that is the case, selecting all vertices and applying the Weld operation (for example within the Edit Spline) should fix it. If that doesn't solve it, please feel free to send us your scene and we'll check it. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I found the issue. I had the vertexs set to corner but when I set them to smooth it fixes the issue. So in the corner parameter I had to change it's setting or change the actual vertex type.

Thanks for the help.

My last question is how can I offset the spline starting position?

What I'm trying to achieve. The only way i can think to achieve this now is to just double my count and then i can make it a edit mesh and delete every other one.

File attached.

You can "shift" these, for example, by using the Transform - X Fixed Translation, where the amount is directly measured from the size of the used Segment. Please find attached the modified scene (240130_raiclone_001_iToo.max). I hope that helps.

As I can see, in your style setup, using the Sequence Operator would probably be a better choice in this case. You can simply alternate between the used Segment and the "empty" Segment.
