File size after copy RC
« on: April 20, 2023, 02:52:04 PM »
Hi Guys.
I have a problem with file size and I don't understand how to solve it. In my file I copy RC about 20 times. I only copy the RC object and apply it to the new spline.  But after that my file takes up 8GB. I am using Shit for copying. Please help me. How can I solve this problem?

I find only one topic with the same issue https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/multiple-same-style-rc-different-splines-big-filesize/msg8343/#msg8343, but I realy don't understand what can I do?

Hi,

Well, theoretically all your objects should share the same references and you shouldn‘t face this issue. I would suggest you try the"Style Linking" feature (it allows you to link the RC object to another, so the Style changes done on Master are dynamically reproduced on other(s)) to see if there’s any difference.

Let me mention, that using the recently introduced Proxy Cache feature would be highly recommendable for these purposes. It's very efficient - it'll load and render much faster because RailClone doesn't need to perform so many calculations to rebuild them, which is especially useful for complex styles. In theory, there shouldn't be any significant difference between the Embedded / External mode though the Embedded might be a bit faster.

Thanks in advance for any further comments on this issue you can share about it with us / our user community (in case some user(s) will run into similar troubles).

Best regards,
