Footbridge with tilt and incorrect corners
« on: February 21, 2025, 10:25:28 AM »
Good morning,

I am working on a footbridge design with corner sections and segments that go up and down. Unfortunately, I cannot find a solution for the corners. When the corners align properly, the path becomes tilted. However, when the path is aligned correctly, the corners do not meet.
I have attached a screenshot for reference.
Is there a proper solution to this issue?

Thank you,
Harald

Hi Harald,

Adding a short horizontal section to your base spline should help. As mentioned in this closely related post: "It is not possible to rotate the railing path along two axes (vertically and horizontally) at the same point. This generates an inconsistent piece at the corner because there is no way to fit the chamfers. This is not only a RailClone limitation, as the same issue would occur with real railings." Alternatively, you can set a small Corner > Fillet Radius. I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Thank you Michal for your answer, I will give it a try. Will be kind of a workaround.
