having a brain fog moment - overlapping segments
« on: August 09, 2023, 08:14:22 PM »
attached i have 1 shape that i've copied and moved to show an example of an overlap i would like to achieve with just the 1 segement.  this is a plan view or top-down view.

this is a 1s array and the segment represents a metal panel that is put together and used as siding on a building or screen wall.

i have a rectangle that i am cloning the metal panel segment around, it works great, but i can't for the life of me figure out how to overlap the segments to show like my example?

Simple padding should do the trick.

Hi,

As already mentioned by Dragan, adjusting the Padding value(s) of the corresponding Segment will do the trick – in this case, you should enter negative values.

that is it!

it turns out that the problem was, the whole object wasn't updating when i was using the spinners to adjust the padding.  this morning i set to a pos or neg value of like 5ft and happened to click away from the spinner box before it updated.  thanks.
