including clipping as "end & start"
« on: August 04, 2023, 10:52:20 AM »
Making a wall of bricks with a specific brick that needs to be on the starts and ends of wall corners, window reveals etc.

attached is how it is currently looking with the layout and current geo images.

I tried changing the splines. Rather than use clipping spline for window reveals, making the splines into sections of the wall so that it knows where the start and end is. this works for adding the correct angled piece at the start and end but the full rectangle pieces inbetween end up being cut rather small in places and in fact I would rather the end pieces be the ones getting sliced short.

Is there a way to adjust this so that it roughly keep the middle full segments between like 70-100% of its size and then the start and end just slot in to make sure the edges have the angled piece?

 hope that makes sense!

That would be the recommendable workflow and the Rules > Default > Adaptive mode should do the trick. As it's really hard to say, what's happening exactly in your scene just from provided images, if possible, please feel free to send us your scene (ideally simplified and containing just this problematic object(s)). Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Best regards,

ah yep, adaptive nailed it.

wasn't sure if drawing splines differently was correct or if clipping could be adapted to also force start and end pieces. I will adapt the spline accordingly with adaptive mode!

thanks!
