Internal corner and external corner problem.
« on: October 11, 2022, 09:16:04 AM »
I have such a problem, I would like the outside and inside corner to always appear at 90 degrees while every corner larger or smaller than 90 degrees I would use another element that can bend freely and at the same time be cut freely. I have created and tested my node but I can't quite get what I want. Could you please advise me on how to do this. Greetings. I still have such a request, if you record files with the solution, please pay attention to record in the 3dmax 2021 version, thank you.

Hi,
You could use two more generators just for the corners. One for the non-deform segments and the other for the bent segments. You will probably need to pay attention to the pivots and conditional operators to filter which segments will be sent to the particular generator, but this technique works in most cases.
Paul explained this technique in the #AskItoo:

Unfortunately this video didn't help me much, I failed to get the effect I wanted, thanks for your efforts Dragan.

Please take a look at the attached - hopefully it's what you are after. I've just modified the Conditional nodes a bit to better detect that corner.

I hope it helps,

Paul
