Hi,

What material override ? Do you mean 'Use Segment Material' ?

If so, that's correct. Quick Mesh uses only the material assigned to the RC object.
This is caused by a limitation of Nitrous. I hope it can be improved in the future, with some Nitrous improvements which are planned for upcoming Max versions.

Material operator should work fine, as long as your materials are composed in a multisub material, and this is assigned to the RC object.

Anyway, this may be a major change for your workflow, if you are currently using 'Use Segment Material'.
Please note these limitations of Quick Mesh affect only to the viewport. Render should generate right materials in all cases.

True, not an issue but i would like to avoid switching to mesh when i tweak spline or marker data ( if  i have complex style with a lot of different segments it takes time and graphic card resources )

I love quick mesh because viewport poly reduction.
