Railclone Color randomize by Spline Section
« on: March 06, 2020, 02:42:06 PM »
Hi,

Is there a way to control RailClone Color map to randomize by Spline Section?
I'm working on a curtains style which allows to generate two curtains for one window (one window = one spline section) but if I use RailClone Color map to randomize tint, it applies those two segments different colors, which is unrealistic.
Maybe there's some tint variable that can be used in an Expression (like in ForestPack's effects)?

Right now I got back to simple Material ID randomisation, but it's troublesome since I use couple of different courtain models with different materials.

Yes there is a way.
Transform Node has Color Seed input. You can wire a randomized Integer to it, where it is randomized on each different Spline:

And a quick side note:

Using Bercon Gradient in color tint slot of RailClone color map causes a crash.  :o
