Simple glass fence
« on: June 04, 2021, 11:24:13 AM »
Hi,
I'm creating a glass fence with optional distance between each glass. Glass is chamfered so I created a compose for start middle and end part of the glass. If I use scale mode my chamfers are scaled (which is really not a problem but I feel I'm doing it wrong), and if I use adaptive it will put two glass units and then have a gap like in image 2. I'm using an empty segment in evenly to create gaps. Maybe I should use chamfered segment/empty/chamfer mirror to have holes?

I think there's a better way and I'm doing it wrong.
Thx

Hi.

With railclone it is often that You can get same/similar result with many ways.
I would recommend exploring a nested generator option.- make one linear generator with start default end. and plug that generator to a new linear generator.

Practice makes perfect.

Oh and anyway I can make the corners better? This is ok too, since I have an empty element plugged in the corner too, but how do I make one glass go to the edge?

Breaking glass makes one element just go over the other. Is there a way to make the kind of corner I sketched? Red is the spline used to make this.

Dragan thanks! That's a pretty cool one but has similar corner to my...so wondering how to make this.

Well, break and move to desired location.

Solving this style in RC would lead to more questions how to solve non 90° angles.
