size tiles
« on: April 26, 2022, 11:20:23 AM »
Hi, i need some help regarding how to maintain the size of the tile always the same all along the object, I am using a 2s1 array with a circle for x spline and a y for shape the object.... the tile is changing size alonge the curved y spline, getting very small at the end upper part... is it possible to do it with this operator? thank you

Hi.
I think it would be difficult to get what you want with A2S.
I would go with a different approach, something like in this tutorial:
https://www.itoosoft.com/tutorials/creating-a-bonnet-hipped-roof-with-railclone-in-3ds-max?back=page%3D6
Not quite sure how angles will be controlled at the momemet but I guess I will introduce some nesting in play. I don`t have 3DSMax at the moment so I can`t try it.

The issue is that when using a 2D array with an X and  Y spline then the number of segments used in rows is determined once - by the initial size of the Y spline. There's not an option to calculate the number of segments calculated in subsequent rows independently.
