Two Railclone issues I'm having
« on: March 31, 2025, 09:15:42 PM »
Hey everyone, I'm using one of RC's default templates (The Concrete Curb) from their library, and I'm encountering two issues.

1) I'm utilizing the Set ID feature to switch between the standard curb and the section where it lowers to ground level. I set the spline segments. Set ID to "2" for the areas of the spline in which I want to be lower.  It works as expected, but the rounded corners don't align with the curb and the rest of the standard curve. See the attached image - "Img_001a". The only solution I found that worked was extending the length of the segments assigned to "2" further up the straighter part of the spline. (See Attached - "Img_001b. "). Is there another way or setting I need to adjust to fix this?  Because if I need the curb to ramp down right at the start of the rounded corner, I'm a bit SOL.

2) I want to shorten the ramp part of the curb (002a), but no matter how I go about it, it keeps a gap (002b). I've tried swapping out the mesh with the same one but shorter and it still does it (even after I reset the transforms). In the RC style editor, I've tried adjusting the segment object's Scale and the fixed size. I also tried utilizing a transform node but still get the same results. I thought it might have been fixed with padding, but when I adjust that, nothing happens. So I'm not sure how to fix this issue much at all.

All help/advice is greatly appreciated!

- Ken

Hi Ken,

(1) For this scenario, I would suggest you use the revised version of the curb style, which you can download from this closely related post.

(2) Adjusting the Fixed Size of 'objcurb010', connected to the Compose Operator that feeds into the Start & End Inputs of the Linear1S Generator (limited to Material ID 2), should work.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Michal dude! it worked like a charm! Thank you so much for the help!

If you don't mind me asking, what's different between this newer Curb RC and the original one? I looked it over and it looks pretty much the same to me. Still learning, haha.

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear that it helped. The difference lies in the alignment of the 'objcurb005'. I wish you the best results, and if there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know.

Best regards,

Hi Michal,
now that the problem is known, wouldn't it be easier and more efficient for everyone to update the library with the new curbs ?
