I tried to reproduce the "DEMO: RailClone 4 - Quick Mesh Mode"
Seems like you have textures in your Viewport ?
I cannot get them to display in my viewport. But renders fine

Yes, quick mesh does display material with some limitations. Are You using "Use segment Material" option? As this option is not supported in viewport regardless of Full Mesh or Quick Mesh mode.

I had no Max 2020 at that moment. But now i see that my guess was correct.
You are using option Use Segment Material. That is not supported in viewport.
