Forest Pro (*) / Re: new FP7 - having trouble with it
« Last post by KQ8229 on Today at 11:54:45 PM »
Ok so before I could just generate multiple trees at specifik places where I click the mouse and then pick objekt in library. Wery easy.

Now I have to:
Place icon - go to geometry - pick objekt in library - Go to item editor - Custom the tree - click yes - go to add item - start clicking the places I want a tree.....

I would like the software to be more efficient not less..

PLEASE itoo. Bring back "custom edit" under the "Forest creation" panel. I still use FP6 due to this bad "upgrade" removing this easy tree placing method. And therefore I'm stuck with max 2018 because your FP6 doesn't work with newer max....

Forest Pro (*) / Re: "Move Away From Edges" effect

Hi,

For these purposes, you can use the bundled "Spline Repulsion" Effect (Dynamics > Spline Repulsion). I hope that helps.

Forest Pro (*) / "Move Away From Edges" effect
« Last post by samrecentspaces on April 26, 2024, 12:59:14 PM »
Title explains it really.
Is it possible to set up an effect to transform objects away from the edge of an include spline?
There are some cases where edge mode is not appropriate and size would completely kill the objects you want at the edge.

Not really clued up on forest effects yet so I don't know how to approach this =/

hey mate, sorry im a little confused on this one, would it be possible if you could show me an example?

Hi,

It shouldn't be necessary to use translation. Instead, using a combination of Sequence Operators in the Increment at X and Increment at Y modes to alternate these in the Start/Bottom Input (depending on your style setup) should do the trick. I hope that helps.

Work in Progress / Advice on how to build office ceiling with offset lighting
« Last post by matthewfloyd on April 25, 2024, 09:33:20 AM »
Hi,

I'm trying to build the ceiling below, it has a sequence of of 2 lines of lights, with every other line down the ceiling, being offset. Ive currently achieved something similar, but offsetting the second sequence by using translation, but it is not giving the nice edges around the spline, as they are always being offset by the amount of specified.

I wouldn't mind some advice on how you would go about building this?

Thanks!
