Maps on network nodes
« on: July 06, 2021, 07:04:51 PM »
Hi,

I would like to render over the network using backburner (3ds max), however the maps are installed at the user level. How do I point all the forest pro maps to a location on the network so they all get the correct textures from one place?

Many thanks

Generally it is recommended to install bundled assets to network computers as well, (so they all do not go to one NAS at the same time, which would cause performance slowdown).

It should be enough to install bundled assets with update manager to render nodes also user level. 3ds max should find missing maps.

Alternatively You can point to one NAS location with a little bit of technical work as explained in these guides for ForestPack and RailClone
