Generally, clipping is an issue. We've been asked about it before and we did actually implement a solution in a previous release but unfortunately, it had to be removed because it could not be correctly UV mapped. Unfortunately, this was a limitation of the Max SDK. In some cases, you might find handy the VRayDistanceTex
map to perform a render-time boolean and a capping effect in a very similar way as explained in this post
