There isn't a way to automatically optimise the geometry. You could extract the source geometry for editing by following this procedure:
1 - Select the segment node you wish to extract.
2 - Click the Extract Segment To A New Object button (
) from the tool bar or go to Segments>Extract from the menu.
3 - The Segment will be created in the scene at its original coordinates.
However you may find it's not necessary. As the geometry is not being deformed it should be instanced and so will scarcely impact your render times.
