Clip by surface area
« on: January 25, 2021, 01:51:09 PM »
Hello,

I'm playing around with Array 2S and was wandering if there's a way to prevent geometry generation based on whether there's a surface beneath them or not.
In a way to avoid using a clipping area to go with it.

Hi

You need to plug a spline object for that. However that spline can be some smart object- live link generating from linked mesh. Like borderspline object.

This is a great idea, already looking it up.
But the main problem i'm experiencing is RC not clipping accurately when the clipping area is exactly the same as the surface. I have to inset the clipping area a little bit to allow RC to clip correctly.
Otherwise, geometry will be generated and fall under (and sometimes, above) the surface. Like in the image attached.

Sorry, can't help with that. That is a known limitation. Make sure they are not exactly the same size.
