Forest Pro (*) / Forest Pack Missing Materials
« Last post by stu on November 26, 2025, 01:01:43 am »Hello All,
I'm not sure what's wrong, but none of the forest pack materials are loading properly and I'm not sure what to do.
Specs:
3ds Max 2025 / Arnold with MAXtoA 5.8.4.0 / Forest Pack Pro 9.3.1
Asset Tracking shows the maps are found. However, when I drag the material (from the FP properties panel), there are missing materials attached to the main Multi/Sub-Object material. These materials only say:
My only guess is that my version of Forest Pack doesn't work with my 3ds Max/Arnold version, but I'm not sure which version of Forest Pack to use for (what would be) Arnold 7.4.4.0. Is there a way to know which version I need?
Thanks for any help!

@Michal
I was really hoping for a more flexible solution. I need this RC style mainly for exterior renderings, where I have a lot of windows at different heights, so splitting the X/Y spline is unfortunately not an option.
@Dragan
Thanks for the link to the generator. It looks really cool and has a lot of great features, but I don’t think it really fits my needs.
Basically, I only have three elements: Windows, Fixed Frames, and Doors. This is pretty easy with RailClone, where each one is a rectangle with an ID of 1-3.
I’m not 100% satisfied with this solution because the divider has the wrong width (see screenshot).
If anyone has a good solution for this, I’d be really happy to hear it.

Please check my post:
https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro/basic-window-generator-with-some-advanced-parameters/
and test my macro for the basic window generator.
I can add or modify any feature you will need.

RailClone Lite / Script to instantiate RailClone object
« Last post by square on November 25, 2025, 03:02:42 pm »If someone needs to instantiate a RailClone object I found an automated solution. I'm using Unreal Engine as converter to get a fbx mesh which is then imported into 3ds max - all done with maxscript and python.

« Last post by Michal Karmazín on November 25, 2025, 12:34:46 pm »Well, as mentioned previously, the goal is to maintain consistent results. If you prefer to get random outcomes, you can modify the General > Random Seed value, which is also accessible via Maxscript ($.seed), so you could run a short Pre-Render script to randomly change it every time.

« Last post by Michal Karmazín on November 25, 2025, 12:10:30 pm »I’m guessing you’re using the Extend X/Y Size to Area feature, correct? In that case, these vertices will be ignored because the X/Y Corner Inputs expect their vertices to come from the X/Y Spline Inputs. If you ‘split’ the spline and use X & Y Spline inputs instead, you should be able to use those vertices. I hope this helps.

thanks for the reply. I managed to make a version with X Evenly Segments.
Am I correct to assume it is not possible to add a divider (X Corner) at every vertex location with the A2S, like seen in my screenshot?
Best,
Gerald
