« Last post by Joker1979 on June 25, 2025, 10:38:47 pm »Could you make a tutorial or share a simple example file showing how to create a roof that can shrink or deform along with geometry changes, like in this video? in 4:11 https://youtu.be/Rx3tDl2RHy4?t=250

RailClone Pro (*) / Random height of building generator
« Last post by Nasau on June 25, 2025, 03:47:13 pm »Hello! I am working on a procedural building generator for the company where I work and I have found a limitation for its random operation.
I have set a selector ( numeric ) for the user to determine the maximum height of the buildings in terms of floors, from this, I send it to an arithmetic where I multiply this value by 300 ( to get the cm ) to determine the maximum height of the building.
My problem comes when I want each building to have a random height, I have tried with a random from the parameters section, with an arithmetic using the random function.... nothing, all the buildings that are generated have the same height as the main building. I have tried both copying the railclone and the line and adding elements to the spline that uses the railclone, it is always the same height and the only way to have randomness is using the random in X Spline Start mode, but this causes that each of the generators that create the buildings, have a different height, making the architecture makes no sense.
can someone help me please ?
Thanks in advance

RailClone Pro (*) / Re: Gradually bend an array of bars along a path
« Last post by Michal Karmazín on June 25, 2025, 10:14:50 am »That's caused by differences in alignment and axis orientation among the used objects. I have adjusted the style to suit your scene. Please find attached a revised version of your scene (250625_railcloneProblemGradualArray_ITOOSOFT.max). I hope this resolves the problem.

I just opened the forum to post about this bug. I solved it with reset xform, but it was annoying.

« Last post by RealViz on June 24, 2025, 04:56:47 pm »Hi, would it be possible to add "detach as instance"? Because it often happens that trees for single shots change position/rotation etc. slightly. This is not possible inside FP. Now I need to make it as a detach in another FP and then convert it to isntance using FP_toolbox. Which is quite awkward and tedious.
Or if it would be possible to animate objects in the case of "Custom Edit" :-)

« Last post by Michal Karmazín on June 24, 2025, 04:10:32 pm »Hi,
You can control the Z Fixed Scale value of the used Segment - and consequently its bending - by referencing the XSplineCoords.z attribute. Please find attached a sample scene (250624_RCXSplineCoordsSampleScene_ITOOSOFT.max). I hope this helps.

RailClone Pro (*) / Gradually bend an array of bars along a path
« Last post by FE2763 on June 24, 2025, 02:26:48 pm »hello there, i need help
in the image you see two arrays of bars; one arc is composed by straight bars and the other by bending bars;
i need just one arc (path) which starts with straight bars, and gradually those bars bend in the middle (upper part) ;
do you have an hint or a tip to achieve that ?
thanks!
