You can use the SegmentYCounter attribute to calculate the Z Fixed Translation of used Segments and the Sequence Operator in the Increment at Y mode to alternate rows (by the X Fixed Translation). This RC object can be used as a base surface for the FP object, which can be easily limited to desired Surf.Mat.ID.

Attaching a sample scene with simplified possible scene set-up. Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,

Well, the Trace reflections option has effect just when converting Standard Material(s) to V-Ray / mental ray materials. Anyway, you can access this property from maxscript by:

.option_traceReflection = off (.option_traceReflection = off)

Also, you might find handy the "Vray Mass Material Editor" script or similar ones. Hope that helps.

I'm using the Material Optimizer and have unchecked Trace Reflections.

After I use it and drag/drop the material into the Material Editor, the Trace Reflections is still turned on.

Why isn't it working?

Same question for the other major cloud services. Microsoft Azure & Thinkbox/Amazon. If they're not talking to you guys they need to be, came here to ask the source first before I go asking each of them individually... I'll make it clear to them that the only way we'll be able to utilize their services is if they offer your plugins. It seems like everyone is moving to cloud rendering, even our IT dept is looking to move that expense offsite one way or another, so hoping we can figure something out.

Generally we recommend to use the latest version published. As the 3ds Max 2009 was supported until the Forest Pack Pro 4.4.1, but the latest version released before the maintenance plan for your license expired was the Forest Pack Pro 4.0.3 - that would be the recommendable release without the need of the maintenance plan to be renewed. Hope that helps.

My subscription ended Nov. 2013, would you suggest download and installing the most current to that date, or using the one I had to start with? I'm still using and plan to continue using 3dsmax 2009. Everything worked smoothly before, I just dont want any new issues, knock on wood.

Hi Paul,

Would be nice to have this feature.
Because then we can use just one spline, for both.
So you don't have to think about changing multiple splines to keep everything linked and up to date...

Thank you.
