Hi Dustin,

Please try disabling the Surfaces > Scale to fit sloped area option as a quick fix to see if it helps. However, for better control in this region, it may be necessary to use smaller distribution patches or a detailed preset. You can create an additional Forest object specifically for this problematic area and combine it with the larger Forest object by using a Forest Exclude Area. I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Hi Luke,

If you enter the Cladding macro by double-clicking it or by right-clicking and selecting Macro > Edit, you can change the Clipping Area > Auto Align mode to Spline. To control the alignment, use the Make First vertex command and optionally the Reverse function to adjust the alignment as needed. I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Thanks Michal, I'll give that a go! 👍

Thanks for the revised version.
But I like to understand: why it works on the left side and why we have to increase the value on the right side.
The pivot is in the center of the object.
And why is there no problem with the outgoing angles object? Only a problem on the incoming angle.
I've tried the outgoing angle object in pivot mode, and it works fine.
Please explain.
Thank you very much.

Forest Pro (*) / Errant Patches of Large Grass

I think its due to the geometry underneath but Im not sure how to correct it. Im surprised that FP is affected by the size of the polygons used on the surface or a quick change to a slope? You would assume that FP has the ability to scale the grass clumps in order to traverse sharp elevation changes? Whats most surprising is FP's answer to this by addign one huge grass cluster over the top pf a mound and hoping for the best...lol..It basically scaled the one cluster to patch the surface where it cant figure out what to do. I guess Ill have to get in there and even out the polygon spread but still surprised this is still an issue.

Hey All,

I'm wondering if there is a way to get cladding to align on 90degree planes...?
I come across this issue all the time and I'd love to know how to fix it...

Many thanks.
Luke.

My apologies for the confusion regarding the use of Spline Area(s). Since your initial question was about the best approach for this type of setup, I mentioned it as an alternative worth considering. That said, if you're already using a Surface Area, the UV mode should work just fine. If necessary, you can adjust the UV mapping to help avoid repetition.

As mentioned previously, if you encounter any trouble with it, please feel free to send us your scene and we will be happy to take a look. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

The thing im confused about, is i just added a spline to the AREA (include spline).  The UV is within the surface area is it not?  However if i am doing this via spline and NOT surface then how is this done?  sorry mate i am confused.
