Forest Pro (*) / Re: how to match the distribution of objects to the unwrap using map distribution
« Last post by Michal Karmazín on Today at 10:01:52 AM »There are several ways to achieve this. The recommended approach is to use the bundled Density by Map (UV) Effect for this purpose. Additionally, you might find the Density by Texture and Falloff Density from Bitmap posts helpful. As demonstrated in these posts, you can blend multiple maps using a Composite Map (or Mix Map) applied as the Distribution Map. I hope this helps.

Forest Pro (*) / Re: Boundary checking- Edge mode on (partially) stacked surface?
« Last post by Michal Karmazín on Today at 09:48:53 AM »Thank you for your prompt reply. As you mentioned, the Edge Boundary Checking mode does have some limitations - we’ll look into ways to improve it for these scenarios.

Forest Pro (*) / Re: Boundary checking- Edge mode on (partially) stacked surface?
« Last post by ritoo on Today at 08:47:02 AM »The problem is not stacked surface per se but UV mode which does not support edge cutting (even on not stacked surfaces)
I need UV mode instead of XY because its not being scattered in overlapping areas
P.S. BTW I noticed Surf.Mat.ID in Areas rollout feature works only in XY mode
P.P.S. The only workaround in my situation that I found is using multiple surfaces in XY mode.
So my humble request is please make edge work in UV mode.

It could be a single surface or multiple ones (via forest set or straight) - edge cutting won't work on partially stacked geo. Can't you reproduce the issue?

Could you please specify the versions of your software configuration, including 3ds Max, the renderer, and Forest Pack? Additionally, do you manage these planes as separate objects or as a single object? Thank you in advance.

*- I just PMed some example. BTW, in this file Update button in Display rollout does nothing as well, only Update All works

Currently, our plug-in does not support customizing shortcuts. However, in the Forest Lister, you can use the 'Select All' and 'Rebuild Selected Objects' buttons. I hope this helps.

Forest Pro (*) / update all\selected (surfaces) via shortcut and lister
« Last post by ritoo on January 20, 2025, 09:34:26 AM »Dear Itoo, It'd be extremely helpful to have a keyboard shortcut for update all\selected command and via Lister. Is it doable?
