The Use Color ID option is designed for the Point-Clouds mode. However, as you’ve pointed out, it could also be useful in the other viewport modes. We’ll see what can be done.
Best regards,

Forest Pro (*) / colorizing clusters by Color ID in proxy mode?
« Last post by ritoo on November 04, 2025, 11:44:30 am »Does "use color ID" work only with Point cloud mode? Is it possible in Proxy mode (thin boxes or pyramids)? In my experience different clusters (in proxy mode) can only be shown by material, not by color ID (derived from wireframe color).
Thank you
Thank you

a) Change the installation path for the assets.
I think this is doable, and will require some changes to the Update Manager.
b) Relink textures to the library path, so it's not required to use the 3DS Max texture folders.
This is more complex, because Max doesn't provide any automatic way to relink textures using the Asset Tracker (only can be done manually). I'm trying to implement a custom tool for that.
No promises, but i hope we can provide a solution for both issues on next updates.

Could you please briefly describe how these objects are animated? If you need to animate an object’s controllers, please apply the XForm modifier and animate that instead of animating the Position/Rotation/Scale controllers directly, as ForestPack takes control of these during its calculations.
Thanks in advance for any additional details you can share with us or our user community - it may help other users who encounter similar issues.

It's about the principle itself, where FP/RC installs its entire library on all PCs. As I wrote. It's not much (12GB), but it's completely unnecessary even considering that most users have the library on a network share anyway.
