Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're facing these troubles. Could you please specify which renderer you're using and its version? Thanks in advance.

Also, please check the Direction setting under the Surface tab (it's set to 100 by default). I recommend setting it to Surface’s Normal (0) instead. Additionally, you might try enabling/disabling the Scale to fit sloped area option. You can find more detailed information about these settings in our online reference guide.

Thanks for any further comments you can share with us. Your feedback might be valuable for us and other users who encounter similar problems.

Best regards,

Hi. Sorry for my english.
I work in a Golf camp and i have a forest pack object create for my grass clumps. I create a new forest object for scatter in the surface by i have several problem with the slope and edge areas. I change the mode Automatic to meshes in the rendering butl no work the edge mode (create black object). The other problem with the slope is the same. I have various clumps in zone with many slope and there are floatthing and dont cut for the edge mode.
I convert all clump forest in meshes and change the clumps for the small geometry because the interception between the clumps part in plane areas and the individual meshes in slope areas dont look the same. My machine is crash with too many geometry.

Please help me, i resolve for now but the method to use forest for scatter other forest is very convienent and i like work whith them.

I have a Laptop with Intel I7 - 13620H 10 cores 16 threads
64 Gb RAM
GTX 4070 8Gb

RailClone Pro (*) / Re: Cannot distribute hexagon on chair Surface

Hi,

First, let me mention that RailClone’s surface feature is currently somewhat limited. Unlike paneling tools that follow polygons or UVs, RailClone projects geometry along the object's local Z axis until it intersects with the surface geometry. This method works well when the face normals are oriented toward the RC object, but issues can arise when faces point away or overlap.

In this case, inclining the RC object slightly on the X-axis (around 30º) seems to solve the issue. I’ve also made the surface slightly larger using the Edit Poly > Outline and Inset tools to help avoid any unwanted deformations.

Please find attached a modified version of your scene (250408_KnitChairRC_ITOOSOFT.max). I hope this helps.

Hi,

As pointed out in this related thread: "Instead of hiding these elements, you should "remove" them - for example, by using the DeleteMesh modifier on the selected element(s) / polygons."

I hope this helps.

Hi
I have some plants that comes with the Pot.
I want to use them with ForestPack but with no pot so I have hidden the pot mesh but FP is distributing the whole mesh, is there a way that this doesnt happen?
Do I need to delete these parts?

RailClone Pro (*) / Cannot distribute hexagon on chair Surface

Hi
I was modelling a chair and 1 aproach was to use RailClone to distribute hexagon tiles in a surface, but, I cannot make it work
I understand that for perfect fit on surface you need to have an extended clipping area, but the pieces are being pushed to the "ground", it improves if I increase segment subdivs but even with t hat cannot achieve a better ressult
How can I improved this?
I attach a sample in max 2022 and the reference image

PS I have already modelled this chair using Edit Poly Tools but I wanted to know how can I achieved this in RC, I have the same issue using Conform Modifier

Yes, it's in the architecture type categrie, under supermarkets. not very obvious

I'd never paid much attention to the "Groceries" library before, and when I was looking for it, I noticed that it didn't appear when you entered its name in the filter area.

Hi,

I did what you suggest, but items are not in the correct orientation, and volumes are not respected

Also NONE of the railclone presets is done with the shelft stacker macro. It's done with the ones you provide and show in the video tutorial. wich is fine, BUT, I would like to know why the shelf stacker provid doest not work as expected!

Hi Bruno,

To the Scatter Items input, you should wire your object(s) - typically multiple items connected through a Sequence or Randomize operator. While it's possible to use the 'Shelf Stacker' macro without a spline by adjusting the Objects Wide parameter, we generally recommend using a spline for most scenarios. You can control how many items are stacked by tweaking the Objects Deep parameter. The macro also allows for random item removal - especially from the front of the shelves where they're more accessible. For that, you can use the Height Front and Height Back parameters to control shelf height. The remaining parameters help fine-tune the randomization of the scattered items.

Additionally, we recommend checking out the bundled Groceries library for style examples - you can easily replace the default objects with your own products. I hope you’ll find these helpful.
