Hi,

For this purpose, you can use negative values for the Padding parameter - in this case, the Top Padding. To ensure consistent values across all Segments, the recommended approach is to use Transform Operators with the Top Padding Parameter exported and wired to a Numeric Parameter. Please find attached a modified version of your scene (251201_RAILCLONE_TILED_ROOFS_ITOOSOFT_REV.max). I hope this helps.

Hi. Another tile problem. Probably a simple solution. I want to have the tiles half overlapping as in the attached screenshot but any parameters I adjust seems to break it.

Hi,

Using the Adaptive mode for the Default Input doesn’t work well in all scenarios. In this case, switching to the Tile mode would be recommended. Please find attached a modified version of your scene (251201_RAILCLONE_TILED_ROOFS_ITOOSOFT.max).

Morning all.

I have a problem with the offset of the tiles on a hipped roof. Each end is ok but in the middle the offset drifts. Screenshot and maxfile attached.

Hi. Yes is a problem with Connecter. I think in this machine the integratation whith 3dsmax are broken because i try in my other machine and all work fine with the connecter app. Thanks for the help.

Hi Gabriel,

There are several possible approaches. In addition to the previously mentioned Change Items by Distance to Boundary effect, using the Match Color ID on Map feature driven by a map (for example, a Gradient Ramp) should work as well. Greetings everyone,
I'm trying to use  items by distance to boundary effect so I could create "rows" of plants based on distance to the splines i just draw. That way I could control which IDs would be close to the edge, on the center of it and the ones in the middle.
So far my geometry list is the following:

  • Miscanthus01
  • Miscanthus02
  • Euphorbia
  • Brunera01
  • Brunera02

I'm almost sure i need to use distance to boundary effect, but so far no sucess.

I'm glad the problem is solved.

Regarding the .fp files of ForestIvy, as you pointed out, is a propietary format which let us to distribute the libraries without depending of the 3DS Max version.
These files can be loaded in 3DS Max using File->Import. Same for RailClone with the .rail format.

Th eproblem was not in a ForestIvy object, but in a corrupt object which was used as a surface for Ivy and had animation layers that somehow could not be cleared. After remodelling everything works OK now. Sorry for the misconception
