Hi,

These kinds of roof styles are actually pretty easy to set up — usually, you just need to add your roof plates to the Default Input and use edge plates for the Start and End Inputs, and that should do the trick. I’d recommend checking out the "Creating Roofs with RailClone" tutorial—it covers some really useful techniques for working with roofs. I hope you find it helpful.

Hi,

It's really hard to say what's happening exactly in your scene just from the provided images, if possible, please feel free to send us your scene (ideally simplified and containing just this problematic object(s)) to check it here. Thanks in advance.

RailClone Pro (*) / SplineOp - dont respect RC Spline mod
« Last post by RealViz on June 26, 2025, 08:32:56 am »
Hello,
If I merge two spline using SplineOp (Basic Ops etc) the RC Spline modifiers or their properties are not merged. Completely the RC Spline is discarded and not respected.
Is this a feature or a bug? :-)

Could you make a tutorial or share a simple example file showing how to create a roof that can shrink or deform along with geometry changes, like in this video? in 4:11        https://youtu.be/Rx3tDl2RHy4?t=250

Sorry for the late response. It resets with every new railclone and also when I click the open style editor button. Always pops up on the main monitor. I am running max 2025.3 with V-ray 7 Hotfix 2. Railclone 7.0.8. OS Windows 10.0.19045

RailClone Pro (*) / Random height of building generator
« Last post by Nasau on June 25, 2025, 03:47:13 pm »
Hello! I am working on a procedural building generator for the company where I work and I have found a limitation for its random operation.
I have set a selector ( numeric ) for the user to determine the maximum height of the buildings in terms of floors, from this, I send it to an arithmetic where I multiply this value by 300 ( to get the cm ) to determine the maximum height of the building.
My problem comes when I want each building to have a random height, I have tried with a random from the parameters section, with an arithmetic using the random function.... nothing, all the buildings that are generated have the same height as the main building. I have tried both copying the railclone and the line and adding elements to the spline that uses the railclone, it is always the same height and the only way to have randomness is using the random in X Spline Start mode, but this causes that each of the generators that create the buildings, have a different height, making the architecture makes no sense.
can someone help me please ?
Thanks in advance

That's caused by differences in alignment and axis orientation among the used objects. I have adjusted the style to suit your scene. Please find attached a revised version of your scene (250625_railcloneProblemGradualArray_ITOOSOFT.max). I hope this resolves the problem.

Thanks!
I just opened the forum to post about this bug. I solved it with reset xform, but it was annoying.
