Hi, i just tested a couple of scenes here using RTX mode, and it renders fine.

Anyway, i suggest you report the problem directly to ChaosGroup.
Unfortunately we have no control over the rendering process in GPU. Everything is handled from the V-Ray side.

Hi Itoo!

I've got my new workstation and two rtx cards to "play" with forest and Vray, but for now, in GPU mode and not Cuda but RTX mode it seems that forest pack pro never rendered...
I've look around to place proxy in "geometry mode" And limit the forest pack pro object to a small rectangle, and nothing's rendering...

Maps are correctly rooted, the scene isn't heavy...

It seems ffp don't render...

I'm checking this, and as your pointed out, it seems to work in some cases with FP 6.2.0.
But this was non intentional. Perhaps Forest was taking the RailClone viewport mesh, or other cached data. It's difficult to know, without checking all code changes between FP 6.2 and 6.3.

Really, it's not possible to use RailClone as Surface when Instancing is enabled, because RailClone doesn't generate a real geometry. Segments exists only at render time.
The only workaround is to create a separated RailClone object, used exclusively as surface, and hide it from render. You also should simplify this secondary RC, to avoid generating a huge mesh.

I am using:
  Forest pack pro 7.1.1
  vray next, update 3.2 (4.30.02 build 00001)
  3ds max 2020 latest update

Here's a head scratcher for you guys  ???



^ This is rendered from a static camera with nothing animated, so the velocity pass should be completely grey. the grass is respecting the Edge setting under the area rollout, but in the velocity pass the forest objects are lit up like Baghdad  :(



^ By setting the <[display] render> mode to meshes, this resolves the velocity issues on forest objects, perfectly fine for the hedges but the grass suddenly no longer respects the edge setting  >:(

Thanks for the great product, any ideas or workarounds would be much appreciated!
